Thank you to all those that managed to come out on a wet and windy night to join us at Falmouth Rugby Club (thanks to them for yet again being fabulous hosts) for another community update regarding our activities at Ships and Castles.
Over 40 people joined us, including representatives from various user groups and industries, local residents and users of leisure facilities, local town and Cornwall Councillors and children representing several local schools to discuss the long term plans for a swimming and leisure facility that we can all use and be proud of, the challenges, and the short to medium term “meanwhile” plans to best utilise the space until we can realise our community’s ambition. We also recapped the fantastic efforts by so many people last weekend at our big tidy up event – the next one will be announced soon!
The engagement, ideas and suggestions were inspiring and covered diverse uses including sports, treatments, classes, studio timetables, opening hours, amphitheatres, bushcraft, gardening and agriculture, forest school – even indoor farming in our purpose built greenhouse – and the children even worked on design ideas for their future pool and swimwear. : )
Plenty more people signed up to our notifications and volunteer list, which you can also do on our website – please do get in touch and keep following for more news!
Thanks again to our amazing attendees for showing the passion that is evident across a diverse selection of our community – you are awesome!
